Title sequence to thriller movie 'Pulp Fiction' (HOLIDAY TASK)

Pulp Fiction opening sequence
The title sequence of the movie that I am breaking down is the classic thriller movie 'pulp fiction' directed by Quentin Tarantino and starring John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson. The movie is about the lives of two mob hit men, a boxer, a gangster's wife, and a pair of diner bandits intertwine in four tales of violence and redemption.

The opening sequence to this movie is very unconventional yet the actual title sequence is very conventional and follows most ''rules'' of title sequences. The film opens with the name of the distribution/production company 'Miramax films'

The film then goes straight in to the opening of the film which is highly unconventional. The film throws the audience straight into the film without easing them into the film with the use of a proper title sequence. The title sequence is used to introduce the audience somewhat into the film by showing the name of the film and directors and actors in the film but by throwing the audience straight into the film makes them feel uncomfortable. Perfect for a thriller movie.

The opening sequences the ends in a conventional fashion by pausing and introducing the distribution company.

the film then begins as a normal film using a proper title sequence by introducing several different distribution and production companies such Quentin Tarantino's production company 'a band apart' and another production company 'jersey films'

The title sequence then introduces the director ' a film by Quentin Tarantino' and then introduces the title of the film. The title rises up from the bottom up to the top in the fashion of the credits at the end of a film and then begins to shrink slowly.

The names of the actors and actresses appear atop the title of the film as it shrinks slowly into the background. This is a very conventional way of introducing the stars to the audience by coming after the title of the film has been shown.

The title sequence then continues to follow the ''rules'' of sequences by introducing us to co-stars...

...and then introducing us to key production members such as casting, music supervisor, costume designer, production designer, editor, director of photography, co-/executive producers and story creators. This title sequence follows the conventions of most title sequence and then finally introduces us back into the film.

The opening sequence to this film is very unconventional in the way in which it throws the audience straight into the film making them feeling uncomfortable but the actual title sequence is very conventional as it follows most 'rules' of title sequence conventions.
