Intertexuality is when visual referencing is made between films. This is basically when an film will use other parts of another film. This would be sounds, visual scences, and mise on sen which would be recognised by the audience making them more familiar to the film.
An example of where Intertexuality is used is in the film Scary Movie 1 which copied the original film scream. Scary Movie copies many scenes from scream. Scary Movie copies the props such as the scream mask,mise on sen and scenes from scream.
